When it's about the Quick, cheap displays that are attractive in the interior, we often grab cardboard for signage. This daily material introduces low-cost rapid manufacturing and simple alteration to the temporary demands. Cardboard is a stable, entry-level substrate in the signs and banners category, lying between paper posters and sturdier rigid materials such as foam board or coroplast.
Cardboard signage is temporary visual communication made from flat or corrugated paperboard, vs cardboard panels. It has single-wall corrugated sheets of solid chipboard or recycled paperboard of different thicknesses.
Standard ones have either a fluted core to add rigidity or smooth, plain, solid sheets, and are therefore eco-friendly to numerous projects. The thicknesses are usually three to six millimeters, based on the purpose.
Our signage cardboard is made out of layered paper pulp, which is usually recycled to be sustainable. The corrugated types connect two flat liners to a wavy fluted core to produce lightweight strength.
This kind of structure entraps air space, increasing stiffness with minimal additional weight.
Dense cardboard is made with compressed layers, giving it a smoother surface that can then be detailed printed. Additives may also be used to give solid cardboard moisture-resistant surfaces or to add UV inhibitors, giving it a little bit longer life. It is a material that can be cut, scored, folded and printed on regular tools and inks.
The common applications of cardboard that we have are the following real world signages:
Indoor point-of-purchase displays - shelf talkers, floor stand end-caps, and counter cards.
Trade-show booth items - portable backgrounds, directional signs and tabletop signs.
Event and promotional signage - short-term posters, banners and directional signs.
Retail promotions - advertising product highlights and seasonal promotions.
Presentation boards - graph charts or other educational graphics that are mounted on walls and used during meetings.
Green or low-cost campaigns - recyclable community event signs or rally signs.
Our everyday signage project strengths include:
Very cheap - the lowest cost of material when large quantities of material are used or when the prototyping needs to be done.
Lightweight and portable - can be transported easily, installed and moved between venues.
Very personalizable - prints die-cuts in high-resolution graphics into any shape with ease.
Fast turnaround - rapid manufacturing of short-term urgent or test production.
Green-friendly: recycled materials are used extensively, and they can be recycled to their fullest extent.
Flexible fabrication - cuts, folds, glues and forms into 3D just easily.
Long-lasting outdoor usage tends to use cardboard since it is wet and easily distorted.
For delamination, fading, or complete breakdown, high humidity, rain or direct sun is required.
Foam board cardboard is much easier to bend, and does not have such a smooth, high-end finish.
Compared to coroplast it has less weather resistance and structural rigidity in the field.
More than a few weeks in the house or leeches, we change to more resolute materials.
We at Print247 stay focused on making signs and banners stand out to the utmost level. We also monitor signage substrates, but cardboard is the one that is best suited for inexpensive indoor work. It is lightweight, and the cost is low, thus suitable for short-term displays.
When the speed of delivery is pricier than the cost-effectiveness and longevity are at stake, cardboard with extreme durability does not perform. It is still a clever efficient solution to retail-related event promotions and expediency visual requirements.
